Mount Bonnell Wedding | Austin, Texas

February 2, 2022

Rachel & Lucky

Mount Bonnell Elopement

Rachel and Lucky’s had the dreamiest Mount Bonnell wedding in Austin, Texas. Full disclosure, Rachel and I have been friends way before they decided to elope. You can imagine how excited I was when they traveled to Austin so I could photograph their elopement! Let me tell you, I fucking loved this day!

Mount Bonnell Sunrise Vow Exchange

We started the day before sunrise. I met up with Rachel and Lucky at their Airbnb, and then we headed to photograph their Mount Bonnell wedding. Although the weather did not want to cooperate, we had a blast nonetheless! Their vow exchange was intimate, and the views over Lake Travis made for the perfect backdrop. We spent the remaining time hiking the small trails at Mount Bonnell as I documented their beaming love for one another.

Once we left Mount Bonnell, we were off to document the rest of their day! Friendly reminder, you and your partner have total control over how you want to spend your wedding day. Goodbye traditional wedding norms! Our first stop was at Civil Goat Coffee to grab some of their delicious coffee. Next on their agenda, we walked around Guadalupe st. and I got stunning photos of them with the murals on Guadalupe st. Just wanted to point out how unique and beautiful Rachel’s dress is! We had brunch at Oakmont Food Company before heading to 6th street for some more urban vibes! Lastly, we finished off their amazing elopement in Austin by heading back to Rachel and Lucky’s Airbnb. We played Cribbage, and Rachel won! The perfect ending to an already perfect day!

Your Love & Identity is Valid

Rachel is Bi, and we have talked about how bi/pan individuals who end up in a hetero relationship can have mixed feelings about their identity. Just an aggressive reminder that your identity doesn’t change based on who you are in a relationship with! You are just as bi, pan, poly, if you are with a heteronormative . Don’t let the biphobia discourage you or make you feel unwelcome in the lgbtqia+ community.

With that being said, I absolutely adored their Elopement and love how true and authentic they chose to spend their wedding day. Non-traditional weddings are just as special as traditional weddings! If you need more information about elopement weddings, check out my 5 MYTHS ABOUT ELOPEMENTS blog!
